BEHIND THE PEN
D.F. Wade is the pen name of a Brisbane-based writer and Police Detective. Originally from the wheatbelt of Western Australia, he attended Narrogin Senior High School before joining the Australian Army, where he served as an infantry section commander and United Nations Peacekeeper in Cambodia in 1993.
After leaving the Army, D.F. Wade went on to serve with two State Police Services, earning both State awards and National recognition for his work with disadvantaged youth.
He is a graduate of the Queensland University of Technology’s Master of Creative Industries program, majoring in Creative Writing, and also holds a Bachelor of Policing from Charles Sturt University.
In 2011, he won the Fellowship of Australian Writers’ National Literary Award for short film script.
Kelly’s Divide was his debut novel, followed by Puffin Jack.
D.F. Wade currently lives in Brisbane, Queensland.
